Panettone

Ingredients

 

2 1/2 +1/3 +1/4 cups flour

7 Tbsp warm milk

1/2 packet dry yeast 

1/3 cup + 1 Tbsp sugar

2 sticks soften butter

4 beaten eggs

The zest of 1 lemon

The zest of 1 orange

1 Tbsp orange blossom water

1/2 cup chocolate chips

Powdered sugar

Instructions

 

1- Mix the yeast and the warm milk with 1 Tbsp sugar. Set aside.

 

2 - In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat 1/3 cup sugar with the butter until creamy. Add the eggs and stir.

3 - Add the orange and lemon zest, and the orange blossom water. Stir.

 

4 - Add the flour and the yeast with the milk and knead with the hook attachment until you can form a ball. The dough should still be sticky.

5 - Place the dough in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise for 2 hours.

​

6 - After 2 hours, punch the dough to remove air. Flour a flat surface and knead the dough with hands incorporating the chocolate chips.

​

7 - Place the dough in a buttered round cake pan. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.

 

8 - Preheat the oven to 350°F.

​

9 - Bake for 45 to 55 minutes.

​

10 - Once the Panettone has cooled, remove from pan and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
