Olive Bread

Ingredients

 

1/2 cup + 1/4 cup warm water

1/2 packet dry yeast

1 Tbsp sugar

2 cups flour

1 tsp salt

1 Tbsp olive oil

1 cup pitted black olives (drained)

 

 

Instructions

 

1 - In a bowl, mix the yeast with warm water and sugar, set aside until foamy.


2 - In a large bowl, mix together the salt and the flour. Add the olive oil and yeast mixture. Combine with a wooden spoon then knead with your hands. 


3 - Add the olives and knead a few more minutes. (Add flour 1 Tbsp at a time if the dough is too sticky). Form a ball, transfer to a clean bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 hour.


4 - Preheat oven to 350°F.


5 - After an hour, dump the dough on a floured surface and shape and score the bread.

 

6 - Bake for about 20 minutes.
