My Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

 

4 eggs

1/2 cup sugar    

1/2 cup + 1/3 cup flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder 

A pinch of salt

1 Tbsp water

1 cup melted butter

7 oz dark chocolate 

Powdered sugar for dusting, or melted chocolate to drizzle

 

 

 

Instructions

 

1 - Preheat oven to 350°F.

 

2 - Separate the egg whites from the yolks.

 

3 - In a bowl, mix together the flour, the baking soda, and the baking powder.

 

4 - In another bowl, beat the egg yolks, the water, and the sugar until foamy.

5 - Melt the chocolate in a hot water bath. Meanwhile, beat the egg whites with the salt until stiff.

6 - Pour the melted chocolate on the egg yolks mixture and stir well.

​

7 - Pour melted butter and stir well until silky and smooth.

​

8 - Stir in the dry ingredients

​

9 - Fold in the stiffed egg whites.

​

10 - Pour batter in a buttered and floured large casserole dish.

 

11 - Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. 

 

12 - Allow to cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar or drizzling with melted chocolate.
