Grandma's Montecaos

Ingredients

(For 30 cookies)

1 cup canola or grape-seed oil

1/2 cup + 3 Tbsp sugar

A pinch of salt

1 tsp baking powder

3 1/3 cups flour

Cinnamon for dusting

 

 

Instructions

 

1 - Preheat oven to 350°F.

​

2 - In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, mix the oil and sugar together.

​

3 - Add the salt, baking powder, and flour. Stir. (Dough will become sandy but can easily hold together if squeezed.)

​

4 - Make small balls using palms of hands to help shape the cookies.

 

5 - Transfer onto baking trays lined with parchment paper.

​

6 - Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. (Cookies will remain light in color with slightly golden bottoms.)

​

7 - Allow to cool and dust with cinnamon.
